We are so proud to be stocking EMBR Jewellery on Mane Project, have a read about Emily and the brand below and check out our interview with her in our Journal section here
Emily is a self taught Jeweler with an education and background in graphic design which she draws on when creating jewellery.
EMBR Jewellery is made from solid precious metals including sterling silver manufactured by Regal Castings who are also based in Auckland, New Zealand. All offcuts and filings kept and recycled through Regal Castings.
Each piece is made to order, by Emily in her Mount Eden studio. Continuing with a commitment to quality and detail each item comes with a handmade keepsake pouch made from leather.
"My recent work has been heavily inspired by a body of water, particularly the movement of the ocean, and the shapes, contours, and impressions this can create.
Tidal works in contrast to my previous collection, Oscillate, which focused more on bold geometric shapes, facets, and edges. The underlying principle behind my designs is the desire for balance and simplicity, pieces that can be worn every day, layered with each other, to elevate any look. Each piece is handmade in my Auckland studio from solid materials, using recycled sterling silver and gold vermeil ensuring each piece will wear well and last for the owner.
My design style is minimal, clean and elegant. Incorporating geometric forms, contrasting elements, like texture and finishing, and asymmetry because I love something a little unexpected. My work is usually substantial in look and feel. That is not to say heavy or clunky. It is often a matter of the right proportion. The slightest difference in thickness of line can change something from feeling weighty and luxurious to too heavy."
